What is Conductive Education?
Conductive Education is a holistic, group-based learning approach that empowers individuals with neuromotor disabilities to achieve their full potential through structured, engaging activities in a fun and social environment. It integrates physical, cognitive, and social development, using specialized techniques to foster independence, mobility, and confidence in a supportive community setting.
Who is eligible to participate in FACE programs?
All individuals with neuromotor deficits are eligible to participate in FACE programs. We offer inclusive programs tailored for everyone from children as young as 2 years old to adults, ensuring each participant can engage in Conductive Education in a supportive and fun environment designed to meet their unique needs.
What types of programs does FACE offer?
FACE offers Preschool, After-School, Adult Day, and Summer Camp programs for individuals with neuromotor deficits. Visit facealberta.ca/our-program to learn more and register.
How does Conductive Education differ from other therapies?
Conductive Education differs from other therapies by approaching neuromotor disabilities as learning challenges, using a comprehensive, task-oriented method to meet individuals where they are, enabling them to consciously perform daily actions in their environments without modifications. It fosters an orthofunctional personality through fun, social group activities, encouraging exploration, participation, and self-reliance.

Are FACE programs eligible for FSCD and PDD funding?
Yes, FACE programs qualify for both FSCD (Family Support for Children with Disabilities) and PDD (Persons with Developmental Disabilities) funding, although the funding models are different for FSCD and PDD. We’d be happy to discuss the various options that may be available to you. Please feel free to reach out to us if you’d like to learn more or talk through what might work best for your situation. Additional funding supports are available for low-income or other eligible groups if required.
Do I need to attend or send an aide?
No, you do not need to attend or send an aide. Our program offers a high staff-to-participant ratio, with many participants receiving one-to-one support in the classes, and it is always under the supervision of a qualified Conductor.
Do you offer individual or private programs?
While the strength of Conductive Education is in the group aspect of the program, we do offer some private sessions. Contact us at facealberta.ca/contact to discuss your specific needs.
What is the student/staff ratio?
All our classes maintain a 1:1 staff-to-participant ratio, under the supervision of a qualified Conductor.
Can I tour the facilities or attend an information session?
