About us

Our Foundations

Families of Alberta for Conductive Education (FACE) is a registered Canadian charity that provides programming for children and young adults with Cerebral Palsy and other neuromotor conditions. At FACE we help children and adults learn how to be more independent as our programs can help improve gross motor, fine motor, social and self care skills.

FACE is an organization started by families and continues to run the best quality Conductive Education services for families who care for a person with a neuromotor disability.

Our Vision

FACE fosters the acceptance and independence of people with neuromotor conditions

Our goal is to foster the independence of individuals affected by neuromotor conditions in their routine daily activities as well as acceptance in the everyday societal engagements.

What is Conductive Education?

Conductive Education is a holistic approach that can work towards each participants physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy goals. We use conductive education to help improve and maintain ones range of motion, balance, and coordination. Our programs also increase communication and social skills to help create a sense of belonging by building friendships. We also focus on increasing independence by teaching essential skills to life by improving hand function and fine motor movements.

Conductive Education classes are run in groups so the participants work with peers of similar ages. This is based on research about the benefits of cultural and social learning to enhance overall motivation levels and cognitive development. Within the groups we have one-on-one support for each participant.
